March
We've had an eventful month filled with hands-on learning and exciting adventures! We began with our "W is for Weather" unit, where the kids explored the science behind rainclouds. Using water, shaving cream, and food coloring, we created our own rainclouds in a clear cup, observing how precipitation forms and falls.
Our visit to Herrera Family Farm was so much fun! The kids had the opportunity to pet and feed baby goats and chickens and even hold brand new baby chicks. Back in the classroom, we engaged in crafting corn on the cob shapes decorated with beads, integrating counting exercises and enhancing fine motor skills.
As we transitioned into our Pet/Zoo unit, we visited the Wildlife World Zoo, immersing ourselves in the diverse world of animals. We all have really enjoyed learning about all these wonderful animals and their habitats!
A highlight of the month was observing the ladybug life cycle. We watched as ladybug larvae transformed through the pupal stage into adult ladybugs. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into insect metamorphosis and the importance of ladybugs in our ecosystem.
