February
Over the last month our classroom has been filled with so much fun! After finishing up our community helpers unit, we transitioned into "T is for Transportation." All things trucks, trains, and tractors had everyone so excited. We built tracks and raceways together and even got to drive trains through an ink pad and onto our letter art to make "train tracks."
Our Valentine's celebration was next on the calendar! The kids had a blast creating a special Valentine craft for their loved ones, passing out Valentine's cards to their friends, digging into some themed sensory rice, as well as enjoying some tasty, festive treats before heading home! It was a heart-filled day!
Next, we dove into our teddy bear unit. One of our favorite stories along with this theme was the classic "Corduroy." The kids loved the heartwarming story of this little teddy bear on the search for his lost button, and finding a new friend along the way. We crafted some binoculars to go along with our "Going on a Bear Hunt" activity/song and also used those to hunt for the letter Bs hiding throughout the backyard.
Stay tuned for March's recap! We get to start the month out learning about all things weather!!
