April

This month brought so many sweet moments of learning and growth, filled with core memories!

We had the incredible opportunity to watch baby chicks develop and hatch right before our eyes—a truly magical experience. The kids were fascinated as we checked the eggs periodically, watched as they developed, and cheered as we welcomed the new babies into the world. This hands-on journey through the life cycle made our learning come alive in the most memorable way.

To celebrate Earth Day, we read a story about the importance of recycling and then got creative with fingerpainting our own Earths! The kids had a blast swirling together blues and greens to make their paintings look just like our planet. Later that week, we visited the North Gateway Transfer Station, where we saw firsthand what happens to our waste and recyclables—an eye-opening experience that helped reinforce why caring for the Earth matters.

We also enjoyed plenty of time outdoors, soaking up the beautiful weather and continuing our learning under the sun. Whether we were exploring nature, moving our bodies, or spending time with our furry friends, the fresh air brought an extra layer of joy to our days.

As the month wrapped up, we finished our Fairytale & Folktale unit, and are now getting ready to dive into our final theme of the year: All Things Water! It’s hard to believe we’re heading into our last couple weeks of school, but we’ve still got so much to look forward to, including our end-of-year celebration and a special outdoor water day to send us into summer with smiles!
